Sean Kovarovic

Sean Kovarovic is the Founder of Wu De Health & Combat (wdhc), a one-stop holistic health and preventative medicine shop that anyone can afford.

"I came out of the Army with both knees injured. I had to physically crawl up and down the stairs in my own home. After 6 months of doing Taijiquan I could walk up and down the stairs again. I have seen amazing results teaching Taijiquan, and I would love to share that with the world," said Sean.

Because of this experience, he dreamed of opening a school. Sean paired up with his physical therapy instructor and decided to start a nonprofit, to benefit the city of San Antonio through morality, health and self defense.

The biggest challenge for him was getting funding. The support he received from Sky's the Limit helped him think outside the box and discover alternatives solutions to get what he needed. He reached out to Paige Ogawa from Accenture to get support for creating a pitch. Paige quickly discovered her love for empowering small businesses growing up in her family's business and this passion drove her to help Sean. Building off of her experience, she worked together with him on developing his pitch. 

When he started putting his pitch deck out there to raise funds, Sean was offered an award for Leader of the Year for Health 2.0 Conference in Las Vegas. He is planning on continuing to use the pitch deck and this recognition to continue to find funding. This has been invaluable experience for him. Achieving the business milestone of funding gave him the funding opportunities he needed when starting out and provided a huge opportunity for additional funding resources. 

When it comes to his business, his biggest motivation is seeing the results. "It makes a huge difference to see things, like an elderly lady who has been reliant on a walker for years, walk across the room with no assistance," said Sean.
